What does the evaluation

process entail?

The process of the comprehensive evaluation involves a series of scheduled appointments and can take a few weeks from beginning to end. The first step is a phone consultation identifying the presenting concerns and assessing whether this Center offers the appropriate services. A longer interview will then be scheduled to gather a more thorough history. This interview can be in-person or telehealth. Questionnaires may also be sent to the client or parent. Consultation with relevant parties (e.g., parents, teachers, clinicians) may also be helpful, as well as gathering reports from previous testing or school and medical records.

Later, Dr. Krishna meets with the client face-to-face for the longer testing sessions, which typically requires two to three appointments for several hours at a stretch; the length of each of these sessions may differ depending upon the age of the client and developmental needs. At the conclusion of the evaluation process, Dr. Krishna will conduct a feedback session in which the results are discussed in detail, a written copy of the report is delivered, and questions can be answered. If requested, the report may also be sent to others involved in the client's care, such as the school or relevant provider(s).
